Overview
Sudo brings a VC associate's scattered pipeline (pitch decks, notes, market reports, relationships) into one workspace. Built for a challenge set by Overdrive, an AI-for-VC intelligence studio, over a two-day hackathon at UBC Product Heist, where it placed 1st.
Problem
VC analysts lose over half their day to repetitive manual work spread across disconnected tools, with no single source of truth connecting their data, relationships, and deal signals.
Solution
Four features in one workspace: email intelligence that auto-populates deal stage and key metrics, a relationship graph that surfaces who on the team already knows a founder, a consistent judging rubric so the whole team scores startups the same way, and a pipeline dashboard that surfaces what's due today without opening a single email.
Design process
We mapped a VC associate's real workflow in FigJam through a persona, moving from empathize to define to ideate to prototype to test. The journey map surfaced the core insight (investors spend more time organizing information than evaluating it), which shaped the whole concept.
Reflection
Structure is storytelling: walking judges through a day in an associate's life before revealing the product landed far better than listing features. Knowing what to cut mattered as much as knowing what to build: guide the audience, don't dump information on them.
